After a long day of work, my colleagues and I would often joke about our disheveled appearances, comparing ourselves to trolls - dirty, tired, with unkempt hair. It almost seemed like we belonged under a bridge.

Then the internet came along and redefined the term "troll" as someone who hides behind a keyboard, insulting others with greasy fingers. We wanted to challenge this stereotype and bring back the original meaning of a troll - someone resilient and tenacious.

It's perfectly fine if you're not interested in pursuing a typical office job like being a lawyer or dentist. The trades industry can be incredibly fulfilling, financially rewarding, and at the end of the day, you can proudly say, "I built that."

Currently, there's a shortage of skilled young people entering the trades industry, even though there are countless hardworking men and women already in it. It's time to shift the perception that trades jobs are less valuable than careers in medicine or law. Let's support and encourage blue-collar professions instead of steering our youth away from them.
